Free League has opened pre-orders for Alderland, a major new campaign expansion for its grim survival RPG Forbidden Lands.

Set in the war-torn kingdom south of the familiar Ravenland, Alderland drops players into a realm on the brink. The Silent Knights guard the border as a massive host of elves, dwarves, orcs, and stranger kin gathers below—and no one’s saying a word about it.

The expansion packs a full regional deep-dive: 20 provinces, new religions, and a sprawling campaign called The Eye of Heaven featuring ten rival factions all vying for control. On top of that, you get eight illustrated adventure sites that can be tackled in any order, plus a big fold-out map.

Pre-orders through the Free League store include immediate PDF early access (beta version), with the final update coming at release. If you grab it before October 1, you can also help squash bugs via the Free League forums.

Alderland is slated for a physical release in Q1 2027.
